MEATLOAF GLAZE

Meatloaf Glaze made with Coffee Syrup

Swapping out brown sugar for Coffee Syrup gives this glaze a unique, extra delicious flavor. It doesn't taste like coffee, so you can just call it your "secret ingredient!"

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 4-6 Tbsp Coffee Syrup (to taste)
  • 1 tsp mustard

Combine thoroughly, spread over meatloaf before baking (save some for dipping).

I'd provide my meatloaf recipe, but like my grandmother before me, I really don't follow a recipe. I can tell you what makes my meatloaf really yummy - instead of bread crumbs, I use a panade, i.e., bread soaked in milk. I also throw in an egg, salt, pepper, oregano, garlic powder and some fresh grated parmesan (essentially my meatball recipe but with a bit less of the spices and cheese) for about a pound of ground beef. One of these days, I'll measure it out.
